I was sure of it. No doubt about it, Liam had lust in his beautiful hazel eyes. I started to internally panic, trying my best to hide it but he's known me for long enough to know what the expression on my face meant. He immediately took his arm off my shoulder.

Wait a sec. This is my Liam we're talking about! The guy who's been through all my problems with me. I would be a lost, suffocated, vulnerable girl without Liam. As his arm crawled away from my shoulder, I grabbed it and put it back to where it belonged: on me.

"Liam, it's okay" I reassured him. He seemed to know what I was talking about as he nodded in relief, whilst turning his head the other way. With one finger under his chin, I turned his head back to face me.

"How long has it been Liam?" I whispered softly.

He sighed. After what seemed like a long time, he finally started talking.

"Remember when you were 6 and your parents wanted to give you up for adoption? Before you knew Jack was your brother?" he started and I nodded. I remembered that day like it only happened yesterday.

My parents were always on holiday. I practically lived with Liam and his family. His parents loved me more than my own parents ever could. Eventually I was too much of a hassle for my dickhead parents and they decided to give me up for adoption. Jack had never lived with us. He lived with a friend until he moved out to live alone at 16. But he would always come visit me. I thought he was my dad's friend at the time until he told me I was his sister eventually. That's when I moved in with him. And that's when my life really started.

"Zoe?" Liam called my name. Shit I forgot he was talking to me.

"You weren't listening were you?" he laughed. I couldn't help but laugh a little too, it made my heart glow knowing he didn't have that sad look on his face anymore.

"Say it again" I pleaded.

"No" he replied monotonically with a grin.

"Oh really?" I smirked at him. "I think you want me to reveal to the whole school what your middle name is Mr. Liam Albert White" I said laughing hysterically at the defeated expression on his face.

"Ah you..." he started tickling me. Damn him! He knows all my weak spots. We fell over backwards and laid down on the floor of the treehouse on our backs. I turned my head to face him to see him already staring at me.

"So go on.. Say it again" I whispered with a light smile to let him know I was now serious.

"I said.. Remember the day your parents wanted to give you up for adoption? Well I begged my parents to adopt you. I told them I'd give up everything. My xbox, Mr. Teddy..." he went on.

I gasped "Not Mr. Teddy!" I joked.

"Oi watch it, he was a good friend" he joked back.

"Better than me?" I raised an eyebrow in a jokey way.

"No ones better than you" he replied with a serious face. "Anyway, they were going to adopt you, until they found out you were going to live with Jack. I was so devasted that day that I didn't stop crying for a month. Yes I know me crying funny isn't it" he laughed a short laugh. "but that's when I realised how much I need you." he looked up at the ceiling of the treehouse and I did the same. "How much I love you" he whispered and I barely heard him, but I did hear him nevertheless. My head shot to his side straight away. Love? What?! After a long silence I mentally calmed down.
