Chapter 2

“Have you gotten used to the horrible jet lag yet? Is it as cold over there as it is here? Have you been shopping? Make sure to get me something, I aint letting you return without a few souvenirs.” Nat shouted though the phone.

I pulled the phone closer to my ear and held it with my shoulder while I bit into an apple. “Goodness Nat, I’ve only been here for two days. Chill a little. But yes I promise I will. I already miss you guys.” I sighed through the phone. I really did. I was used to having Niall and Nat with me almost every day. This vacation wasn’t going to last forever but sometimes, she really wished she could have convinced them to come along.

“Oh but we miss you more Rach.” She heard a faint voice from the background interrupting her. “She’s a liar Rach, she celebrates every day that you’re not here!” I smiled recognizing that same cheerful voice, and the strong accent no one else had.

“Shut up Niall!” Nat scolded him and went back to our conversation. “You know that’s not true he’s just messing with me Rach.”

I chuckled and reassured her everything was fine. “I’m just glad to know you two are happy and doing great. Please, stay happy. Don’t ever let anything come between you. Don’t make the same mistakes I ever did with letting your true love go. I’m the perfect, bad example.” My fingers froze and my mind went blank. I hated returning back to those horrid memories. But sometimes, I just couldn’t help myself.

“Rach, you’ve got to stop doing this to yourself. I am aware of your situation but every day, you’re killing yourself. I think we all know that the Rachel we all once knew isn’t the same Rachel. You’ve changed no matter how hard you try to be your old self. This is why I was hoping the trip to LA and being with Louis and Eleanor would give you a nice and different atmosphere. Helping you forget your sorrow, even if it may seem impossible. But yes, I can assure you I won’t disappoint you. Niall and I won’t let anything come between us. That’s a promise.”

I closed my eyes relieved. I was just waiting for her to scold me as always. I never listened, but I was satisfied with her response to my suggestion.

“I should get going now, I don’t want to tear you aware from your vacation. You’re there for a reason. No go have fun loser.” Nat exclaimed.

“I got you. Love ya Nat.” I told her and hung up. I shifted back in the chair I was sat in, resting my back. There was a question that always remained in my mind. Would I ever go back to being my old self? Was there anything that could change the way my life was like? Maybe being out here and back with Louis Eleanor and Sapphire would change me back. Help me forget what I was never able to forget.   I still loved him. I didn’t want to love him anymore. I didn’t want to love them anymore. The two who changed my life forever.  I just didn’t want to hurt anymore.

I was just so fucking tired of everyone slowly leaving me…soon enough it would leave me completely screwed up in the head.

“Did you get a chance to speak with Niall and Nat? Because you’ll never guess who I just off of the phone with?” Eleanor hurried into the room I was sat in. I sat up in my chair and nodded my head.

“Yeah of course, but who?”

Eleanor’s eyes shined. “Danielle! And they’ve given me some great news as well.” She winked at me keeping me in suspense.

I jumped off of my chair and ran up to her. “You don’t mean…?”

Eleanor jumped up and down. “DANIELLE AND LIAM ARE BOTH COMING HERE!”

Eleanor and I shrieked loudly jumping up and down together. Suddenly, Louis came barging in bumping through things with a worried expression.

“Woah woah, what’s going on here?”
