EXT.GARFIELD HIGH SCHOOL-TRACK-DAY

Jefferson and Anissa sit on the bleachers tying up their running shoes.

ANISSA

I can't believe the new Principal is taking away the girls track team.

JEFFERSON

Yeah, it's like he keeps outdoing himself.He's trying to change Garfield into a school I don't know. Every week it's like all the work I put into the school he sets it a step back.

ANISSA

I feel you dad.

JEFFERSON

Enough about me though. How are things at the clinic?

ANISSA

Good, nothing too crazy.Knock On wood.

Jefferson chuckles.

JEFFERSON

Just wait. Tomorrow you'll be calling on Black Lightning to help Thunder out with some cyborg who is threatening to blow up the clinic.

ANISSA

What? Nope. Thunder can handle it.

JEFFERSON

Or should I have said Blackbird?

ANISSA

Dad.

JEFFERSON

While I don't agree, you're gonna do what you wanna do.

Anissa is surprised to hear her dad being open-minded.

ANISSA

What's that Jefferson Pierce accepting his daughter is a grown

woman? I think that's growth dad.

JEFFERSON

Everyone has jokes.Come on let's go run.

They stand up, walk over to the field and get aligned on the track.

ANISSA

One of these days I'm gonna outrun you dad.

JEFFERSON

Oh my naive, naive daughter.

Jefferson laughs then takes off running.Anissa is caught off guard.

ANISSA

Wait!

Anissa runs after him. She catches up and looks over at

him. Once they get halfway around the track Jefferson looks

to his other side and see's Jennifer.

JENNIFER

Hey.

She grins and leaves Jefferson and Anissa in the

dust.Jennifer throws her hands up in victory as she crosses

the finish line. Jefferson and Anissa follow shortly after.

JENNIFER

What took you guys so long?

Anissa smirks.

ANISSA

Come here little girl!

Jennifer takes off as Anissa chases after her.

JENNIFER

I was just kidding!

Jefferson looks admirably at his two daughters bonding over a shared love of running.Anissa playfully hugs Jennifer as she catches her.Agent Odell lurks behind one of the bleacher stands watching Anissa, Jennifer and Jefferson.

INT.GAMBI'S TAILOR SHOP-DAY

Anissa walks in the tailor shop meeting Gambi at work cutting fabric.

ANISSA

Hey Uncle Gambi, I got your message.

GAMBI

Good, I have some things I think you'd like to see.

Gambi puts down his scissors and closes up shop. Anissa and Gambi go through the secret passageway.

INT.GAMBI'S TAILOR SHOP- SANCTUM-DAY

Gambi turns on the main monitor and his city view table.

GAMBI

I think I may have found Grace.

Anissa's eyes light up with the news.

ANISSA

What?! Where?!

GAMBI

Don't get too excited.

Gambi directs her to one of his main monitors.

GAMBI

You know for you guys safety your dad asked me to keep an eye on you The other night my system dinged facial recognition of Grace in your home in your old room.

ANISSA

What? How is that possible?

GAMBI

Take a look at this.

Gambi presses play on a surveillance video found showing Anissa sleeping and a figure lurking in her room.

GAMBI

You see that figure right there?

ANISSA

Yeah?

GAMBI

That's Grace.

ANISSA

But why would she--

GAMBI

Your guess is as good as mine.

ANISSA

Do you know where she is now?

GAMBI

That's the problem.Take A look at this.

Gambi pulls up another video of outside the Pierce home showing Grace being kidnapped by four men.

GAMBI

This video is shortly after the other one.

ANISSA

Oh my God, Uncle Gambi I have to go save her!

GAMBI

It's gonna take a little time for me to track down the van but I'll text you the address once I get it.

ANISSA
