Chapter 07

"You seem to be eerily quiet. Are you okay?"

We are now in the dressing room. Katatapos lang akong makeup-an ni Mara.

Si Aria, Mara, at Onyx lang ang nandito sa loob. Si Kaiser ay nagpaalam na sa van nalang daw siya maghihintay sa 'min.

I tried to smile. "I'm... I'm okay, Onyx."

He just smiled back. Hindi na siya sumagot at nag-phone nalang.

Okay? Hindi ko alam kung okay ba talaga ako. I felt like my brain had stopped functioning when I saw Colin earlier.

When I saw his face again, I felt every feeling imaginable. Saya, lungkot, sakit... Naramdaman ko ang lahat maliban sa galit.

I looked in the vanity mirror to see Aria, who was sitting on the couch behind me. Nakatulala lang siya sa sahig at mukhang malalim ang iniisip.

"Kakausapin ko si Miss Zelyn. Huwag nalang po siguro natin ituloy 'to," sabi niya bigla.

Natigilan kami pareho ni Mara dahil do'n. Si Onyx naman ay patuloy lang sa paggamit ng phone niya dahil hindi niya naman naintindihan ang sinabi ni Aria.

"I don't let my personal life get in the way of my professional life, Aria, and you know that." I stood up and turned to face her. "Itutuloy natin 'to. Walang aalis."

I'm sure she's only worried about how I'm feeling. When I was in pain, she was at my side. My ups and downs were witnessed by her that is why I am able to understand her perspective. Pero hindi naman kami pwedeng basta nalang umalis.

"Oo nga. No one is going to back down," sabi naman ni Mara. "And I'm done fixing her hair and applying her makeup na. Anong problema?"

"Wala." Aria shifted her gaze to the side. "'Yan na nga pala 'yong mga susuotin mo sa shoot. Dalawa 'yan, parehong two-piece. Magbihis ka na," sabi niya bago lumabas ng dressing room.

I wore a bandeau top and high-cut bottoms in the first two-piece swimsuit I tried on. Both of them are white.

"The swimwear suits you perfectly," Onyx said while he had a wide smile on his face. "Let's go. The set is ready." He then took my hand and led me out of the room.

The setup was just simple. Medyo nanibago lang ako kasi iba ito sa mga nakasanayan kong photo shoots. Though I understand because this shoot is for a small brand. I don't mind at all.

I take deep breaths as I get closer to the backdrop screen. I've done a lot of photo shoots before... Ngayon lang yata ako kinabahan ng ganito?

Onyx gave me a kiss on the top of my head. "I'll keep an eye on you from afar. Good luck."

Hinampas ni Zelyn ang braso ng boyfriend niyang si Warren. "Ang sweet nila! Kinikilig ako!"
