It's been a while since you got that girlfriend of yours
The pretty girl with the nice smile
The girl who makes your eyes light up
The girl who isn't me
I see her texting you during class and cover for her, for you, because that's what friends do
She's a perfect ray of sunshine
Heck even I like her
She's nice, pretty, happy, but most of all....
She isn't me
How I wish she was
Now I'm gone
We don't talk much anymore
Funny how one person can do that
In a few mere weeks we've gone from being the best of friends to total strangers
As much as I try, you would much rather be with her:
The girl who isn't me
My best efforts don't mean anything anymore and we never talk
No more late night texts
No more four hour long calls
No more crying on your shoulder
That's all reserved for her
