❀ ❀

It was a cold rainy evening in Ontario, Canada. You really hated unexpected times like this. Especially when you're waiting outside of the school's library with only your books on top of your head for protection while waiting for your mum. Totally not expecting that to happen.

"Why am I so unlucky today?" you mumbled as you stood outside, freezing and shivering from the winds.

You recollected your thoughts from what happened earlier.

You tripped while walking onto the pathway to the library and fell into a pile of mud, you read a book for your Spanish class in the translation of French and you left your phone at home. It was really an unlucky day for you.

Suddenly, a black duvet car pulls in front of you and a window automatically goes down.

"Get in! You're soaking wet (y/n)." A familiar boy's voice yelled.

You squinted your eyes to get a good look of him but you can't see clearly because of the rain.

"Come on now (y/n)! Stop being so stubborn." He yelled once again.

You stopped being so "stubborn" and entered inside a car. Once you got the chance to get settled in, your jaw dropped once you found out who it was.

It was Shawn Mendes. The school's hottest and best hockey player who has been your classmate since third grade.

"Shawn?" You asked with disbelief in your voice.

"Yep? You alright there?" He replied with an eyebrow raised.

"Yeah. Why did you help me? I mean, I was perfectly fine there waiting for my mum." You said in a little impolite tone.

"I was on my way home from practice and I saw you having a little trouble with the rain." He said as he took a careful left turn.

You blushed in embarrassment and kept your head down, shivering as cold air started sticking to your skin.

Shawn adjusted the heater to a little high and you felt heat supporting your body. You gave him a weak smile in return.

After a couple of minutes, both of you arrived at your house.

Shawn parked near the porch to help you run a little faster and under the roof. You exited the car and ran as fast as you could towards the porch along with Shawn.

"Thank you Shawn for everything." You said while huffing.

Shawn smiled and replied, "It was no problem (y/n). I was glad to help."

You gave him a small peck on the cheek and entered the house. You stood by the porch's window, watched Shawn run back to his car and drive away.

It was not an unlucky day after all, you thought.
