Chapter thirty-seven: Fiance

"Kamusta naman buhay fiance?" Tanong saakin ni mama.

I extended a week off work to spend more time with my mom and Kaelyn.

"Happy." Ngumiti ako sa kanya at ibinslik sng atensyon ko sa singsing na binigay saakin ni Ryota.

"When are you guys planning your wedding?"

"Kailangan muna namin mahanap si Ravenna. She needs to be at my wedding. And I need to fix loose ties with her."

"What are you planning exactly?" Uminom siya sa juice niya at tiningnan ako sa mata.

"Say sorry is the most important thing that I will tell her. Pero yung iba, confrontation, clarification."

"Di ba kakampi niyo siya? Bakir confrontation?" Pagtataka ni mama.

"Kasi iniisip nilang si Ravenna ay tumulong kala Austin at sa new borns ng Remingtons at Stellards." Sabat ni Kaelyn na tumabi sa tabi ko.

Itinaas ni mama ang kamay niya, "saglit nga. Austin? Remingtons, Stellards?"

"Right di mo pala kilala yun," I let out a hard sigh before talking. "Austin is Ryota and the other boy's friend before they met us. Basically noong nakilala na kami nung tatlo, kinalimutan na nila si Austin, ayon he's being rebellious." Pageexplain ko.

"Okay, who's Remington and Stellard?"

"Ako na sasagot!" Presenta ni Kaelyn, I signed her to talk.

"Bago pa mabuo ang grupo nila Ate Kaede, Ravenna, at Hailey, ito na agad ang kalaban ng mayari ng companyang pinagtratrabahuan nila, which is yung daddy ni Ravenna and also my dad--"

"Cut to the point, Kaelyn. Don't waste our time." Singit ko, kung saan saan kasi napupunta yung topic.

"Ate Ravenna's dad trained the three of them to fight off the group of Remington and Stellard. Hindi sila magkakampi noon, but they teamed up with each other to have a stronger force when thet attack Hendrix's corporation. The  the launching happened bla, bla, bla."

"Napatay namin ang dalawang leader nila pero ngayon binuo na ulit ni Austin with Yvethe." Pagtatapos ko, pinapatagal pa kasi yung usapan.

"And what does that have to do with Ravenna?"

"We are banking on 'the lady' on the masquerade ball we attended. Nang makuha niya ang napanalunan niya sa auction sumigaw ng 'I am Ravenna Vesper Hendrix...' but nagdadalawang isip kami."

"Bakit naman?"

"We don't have enough evidence to prove our stand, but I think we're almost there."

"Cassian is already working with his own research." I scoffed.

"Di ba si Cassian ang boyfriend ni Ravenna? How did he cope nung umalis siya?"

"Weeks... And weeks.... of drinking. Noong kaalis lang ni Ravenna there was never a day he wasn't drinking. Noon umiinom lang siya tuwing iinom si Ravenna ngayon pinataad niya pa ata alcohol tolerance niya. Siguro months has passed, he is no longer affected, but I can feel that he still loves her."

"Anak, that's what you call a person that will fight for you through ups and downs. Kahit sabihin mong sandali lang ang pinagsamahan nung dalawa, it's the memory and everything they did together that counts. Wala yun sa tagal ng relasyon eh."

Lumipat siya ng upuan at pumagitan samin ni Kaelyn.

"Kung sabihin naten 10 years na kayo, pero hindi niyo na feel yung spark and everything, that's what you call lying to yourself. Kung alam mong ganon na ang relationship niyo, itigil niyo na. Hindi yung magpapanggap pa kayo na mahal niyo pa ang isa't isa."
