The Secret 2

22 1 2

Written to give anonymously to my "stress buddy" during Stress Busters Week at work. I hope they were suitably amused. Written in the same vein as a previous poem of the same name hence the 2.

I have a little secret
And no one knows the truth;
I'm not sure I should tell you
You might be a super sleuth.
I'd hate to give myself away
And tell you who I am,
I'm supposed to be anonymous,
But I can say I'm not a man.
I'm not an older lady,
But neither am I young,
I'm somewhere in the middle,
But I should hold my tongue.
So back to telling secrets:
I'm sure I'm not too late
To say that I'm the one
Who's not exactly straight.
It's not what you are thinking,
It's just that when I stand
I have to take good care
To ensure I don't crash land.
You see standing straight is difficult
And you need some inner strength
To stay remaining upright
When your legs are different lengths!
So now I've told my secret
And you know the silly truth,
I think that I can tell you
My middle name is Ruth.
