    I wasn't prepared at all.
I really wasn't. I wasn't ready to face a couple days' flight with a lot of obstacles. But of course, I didn't know that at the time. My only regret is that I wasn't prepared.
    ~Back to Phantom's journey~

I realized, after all this time, though, that I wasn't reading anyone's mind.
I don't want to get into someone else's business. Besides, the last time I read someone's mind, it was Turtle's when I was... I shook my head. Don't think about it! Think about your journey home! It's going to be great! I smiled and continued flying west. (Or was it west?) I was having a nice time, watching the waves and watching everything pass by.
I passed a few islands without need of rest. I was a strong flyer, and a strong dragon. I did a few loops in the air, brushing up against the water with my feet when I finished. I glided over the water with a sense of serenity. A while later I did stop to rest. The island was small, but not too small. There were a few animals on the island that I hunted. Goats that weren't mountain goats. Some cattle. I was enjoying my time a lot, and soon I took off again.
If I had kept my guard up, though, I would have known to fly to the nearest island. But of course, I was too 'calm' and 'serene' to do any of that.

It was a while later when the lighting flashed.
Heavy raindrops began pelting me. Of course, the lighting flashed a few times before I actually had a chance to register what was happening. In a panic, I started flapping around the air like a dragonet who just learned how to fly and was already losing control. My heart started beating fast. I was over the ocean. This was not good. If I had learned anything about lighting, it was that it strikes the ocean.
I was looking around frantically for an island that I could find shelter in. There was nothing but the open ocean. Thunder rolled around me. The wind was so strong, even I couldn't fight it. I was blown a few more meters. Then I saw it.
It was a small island not far from where I was. I started beating my wings forward, but even as hard as I tried wasn't hard enough. The wind kept suddenly changing direction, as if it didn't know if it should bring me to safety, or kill me.
"Make up your mind already!" I yelled at it. I heard a big boom right next to me. Thunder.
Now I was even more panicked. If the thunder was right next to me...
I started to flap even harder, if possible. The wind picked up speed, keeping me right where I was. My heart started beating so hard I thought it would burst out of my chest.
And then there was a blinding flash of light and all was black.

Cliffhanger AGAIN? Why do I dedicate half my chapters to just ending with cliffhangers? Wow. But that's it for this chapter, and I'll see you all in the next one. Bye!!!
