A couple of days later a number of patients were arriving in the emergency room of the hospital, Melissa seemed overwhelmed as she called out, "Does anyone know where Dr. Hilyard is?"
Scott and Maddie then walked into the hospital with a takeout for Melissa.
"Oh, thank God. I'm starving. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Thank you for bringing me dinner." Melissa said
Maddie looked around and said, "Is everything okay?"
"Except for half the accident victims in a ten car pile-up being rerouted here from downtown, and the E.R. attending not answering any of his pages, yeah, I'm okay." Melissa said
"What does not answering pages mean?" Scott asked
Melissa sighed as she said, "It means that nobody can find him, so now we have to wait for the on call to get here."
Whilst they were talking a woman with blood on her face walked up to them.
"Miss." She said
"Yes?" Melissa asked
"Excuse me, can I kind of please have something for the pain?" She asked
Melissa shook her head and said, "Okay, I'm sorry. I know. But, actually, giving you something could complicate things, so we really just need to wait for the doctors. Okay?"
The patient nodded and went to sit back down
Maddie motioned to Scott to go and help the woman
Maddie smiled as she saw Scott take the woman's pain just as Ethan burst into the ER
"Someone... Someone help me! Oh, I need help!" Ethan yelled as he walked in holding up an obviously unwell Danny.
Maddie, Ethan and Scott helped Danny onto a chair
"Okay, gentle, gentle, gentle!" Melissa said
Maddie and Scott pulled Ethan to the side and Scott said, "What did you do to him?"
"Nothing. He said he was having chest pains and trouble breathing, but it... it just kept getting worse." Ethan said
"This is not good." Melissa said she turned to the receptionist, "How much longer on Dr. Hilyard?" The receptionist just shrugged and Melissa sighed, "His larynx has shifted to the side. I think it's a tension pneumothorax."
