The night of the ball arrives, and Marinette still was unable to go. She had been forced to apologize to Lila, in an attempt to go to the ball, but her parents still rejected her request.

Frustrated, the young girl walks to her room and up to the balcony, from there she watches her parents and Lila enter their carriage and make their way off on the horizon to the palace.

Marinette tightly grips the iron bars of the rails. Her eyes were shut tightly in an attempt to cease the oncoming lot of tears.

"It's unfair. I can't believe I can't go." She whispers, slipping onto the ground, the back of her head rested against the rails.

"I can't believe that lying snake got her wa." She murmurs, tightly gripping the crystal diamond necklace around her neck.

Without any form of notice, a small Akuma floats through the skies and down to the balcony of the bluenette. In complete silence, it slips into her necklace, darkening its shade to a purple-ish black. A moth lined frame appeared across her face. Her eyes glowed a dark purple as she stares off into the night.

"Lady Misfortune, I am HawkMoth. You had been denied allowance to go to this ball you wished, right?" HawkMoth calmly asks.

"They took all I wanted." Marinette mutters.

"That's right, Lady Misfortune. Well, I'm giving you the power to go as you please, nobody can refuse nor stop you now. All I ask in return is for the death of Chat Noir and his retrieval of the Miraculous." HawkMoth responds.

"That'll be child's play." The bluenette laughs lightly, closing her eyes and allowing the darkness the consume her.

In a matter of moments, her giant, loving heart, had disappeared and was replaced with the motive to kill. Why? She couldn't figure it out herself, but she wanted one thing. The death of Chat Noir and his Miraculous in her hands to give to HawkMoth.

She lifted herself off the ground and watched as the clouds of purple dust to cover her, allowing her to change and transform.

The clouds of dust dissipate and left her with a long red gown with black dots on it. There was no sleeves on the gown but there was a lining of faux roses across the top of her shoulders and past her bodice. Her bodice was spotted with black dots and thinly etched golden threads. On her ears were still her Miraculous and around her neck was the now black diamond necklace. There was black silk gloves covering her hands, on it were etchings of roses in gold with their thorny vines and brambles across her arms to her elbows.

On her hip was a clasped fan with a golden handle. When pulled on the latch, the fan releases a silver bladed dagger with a rose stem handle.

Her hair was pulled up into a braided crown bun with red ribbons hanging from the bun. A silver tiara laid on her head nicely with a red ruby in the center. Across her eyes, there laid her red and black spotted mask, covering her eyes.

Her make-up was done but half of it was covered by her mask. Her lips were a glossed red and her cheeks were dusted with gold glitter. Her eyes had a light red eyeshadow that got closer to black as it went in more. A thin line of eye-liner was drawn across, winged out.

Her lips curled into a thin smile as she surveyed her outfit. Marinette was going in as a costumed Ladybug.

"I guess there's something I need to get done." She lightly laughs, fiddling with the diamond on her necklace.

Lady Misfortune disappeared in a cloud of smoke and reappeared on the ground, outside of the bakery. Closing her eyes, she willed a carriage, pulled by two black horses. Her eyes opened again to see her will coming true. Lady Misfortune enters the carriage and is carried off to the palace.

When she gets there, she sees other invited guests being dropped off as well and their carriages leaving for the time being. She waited her turn until she was at the steps, two guards opened the doors and allowed her entry into the palace.

The moth frame appears over her face again.

"Lady Misfortune, remember your mission. You can wreck whatever havoc you wish, but you will not lay a hand on the young Prince himself, understood?" HawkMoth says with a threatening tone.

"I have no need for the young Prince, he's not my target." She scoffs, lifting her gown to go up the steps of the palace.

As she makes it to the door, a guard stops her, lifting his clipboard.

"Name, miss?" He questions.

"Ladybug." She lies with a sweet smile.

Her eyes glowed purple, making him forget to look at his list and allowing her immediate entry.

"Y-Yes, right on in." He stammers, moving out the way for her entry.

Lady Misfortune nods to the guard and strolls in, minding the large ornate pillars that hung on the opening sides of the palace. Her hands were clasped perfectly in front of her. Her poised stance made her seem more like royalty than other guests.

Meanwhile, Adrien was staying with Kagami as they stood together, welcoming guests into the palace. The young blonde prince was hopeful that his spotted heroine partner would be showing up tonight and together they could spend the night dancing, and maybe he could sweep her off her feet. But alas, she hasn't shown and so he couldn't leave his position.

Kagami has noticed his yearning looks and wanting to leave. But not for Ladybug, instead she thinks of Marinette.

Adrien turns away from the lines of guests he has to greet and his eyes fall onto his spotted heroine partner as she walks down the steps of the palace to the ballroom.

"I-I'll be back." He whispers to Kagami before turning and rushing out of the ballroom to a secluded corner.

Kagami shakes her head but smiles as she turns back to the guests to continue greeting them.

"I was hoping for a nice night of just eating and feasting." Plagg sighs.

"Don't worry, I'll save you some food for later." Adrien chuckles.

"Plagg, claws out!" He calls, transforming into his superhero suit.

With that, he walks out to meet his lady.
