"Make sure you have all the pastries and baked goods set for the ball, we wouldn't want to be the cause of the embarrassment of the ceremony!" Sabine called out, waving as her daughter, Marinette, stepped out with her satchel on her shoulder as she made her way to the front gardens of her house.

"I got it, Mama!" Marinette responds, walking out and on her way to the palace for the deliveries.

It was a large ball that was soon to come, and King Gabriel had placed an order at the Dupain-Cheng bakery for hundreds and thousands of pastries, boosting a chance for the bakery to have enough for the rest of their lives.

With a sigh, the bluenette made her walk from the house, to the village, and finally to the palace gates.

"And who are you?" The guard asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the person coming to make sure the deliveries get here properly and on time." She responds like she had practiced.

The guard looks away from her and down onto his clipboard with the names of the people allowed in for the day.

"It says Sabine Dupain-Cheng." He remarks.

"I'm her daughter, she's busy with other preparations today." Marinette replies.

"Alright then." The guard nods, moving by so she can make her way in.

The bluenette makes her way through the gates and into the palace. Guards would glance at her for a split second before returning back to their jobs. Marinette quickly walked down the halls and into the throne room where Adrien and Gabriel stood with his advisor, Nathalie.

"Sabine Dupain-Cheng will be here momentarily for the food check for the ball." Nathalie reports with her papers in hand.

"Ah- yes, Sabine won't be here but I'm her daughter, representing her." Marinette cuts in, shyly walking to them.

"I hope you know what you are doing then." Gabriel responds sternly.

"Yes, your highness, I'm well prepared for this." The bluenette nods.

"Very well." He says, turning to his son.

"Adrien, stay with her and make sure everything is done correctly." Gabriel says curtly before leaving the room with Nathalie.

"So, let's get started?" Adrien suggests.

"Yeah, alright." Marinette nods, pulling out her pad from her satchel.

"All we need to do is make certain that all the pastries are to be here and set for the party in a few days." The bluenette hums.

"Alright, well all the delivers are in the kitchen." Adrien motions his hand over.

"Let's get going then." Marinette smiles, following the blonde to the kitchen.

The two walked in silence as they went down the lavish halls of the palace to the kitchen. Adrien silently opens the door, making sure to not disrupt any workers.

"Here, I'll come check on you later, okay?" Adrien says, motioning her in.

"No worries, I got it." Marinette replies, waving him out.

With a sigh, Marinette turned to the bakers, standing at the counters as worked on their rightful jobs. The bluenette turned her attention to the baker who motioned her head to the door in the back, she nods and makes her way back there to find the boxes of delivered goods ready and prepped.

The bluebell eyed girl pulls out her clipboard and began sorting through the dozens of boxes. There were boxes with cupcakes, tarts, sweets, and pastries of all sorts. Marinette would look at the stamps on each box and check them off the list as they were present for the party. Double checking was important in the Dupain-Cheng bakery.

After about half an hour had passed, Marinette was finally finished with all her work and was preparing to leave. The young girl threw her satchel around her shoulder and said her good-byes to the people in the kitchen, heading to the throne room to tell the two royals that she was finished and was leaving.

"Your highnesses?" Marinette called out, entering the throne room, her eyes glued to the decorative garlands around the ornate pillars.

"Marinette! Watch out!" Adrien calls out, jolting the bluenette back to reality as her foot hits the base of the pillar, toppling over.

She lets out a yelp as she instinctively shuts her eyes and wait for an impact, but none comes. Instead, she was held tightly in warm, muscular arms. With a confused whimper, she lets her eyes flutter open and see Adrien holding her.

She lets out a squeal of panic as she jumps out of his grasp and back a couple feet.

"I'm so sorry, your highness!" She freaked out, lowering her head.

"No, it's-" Adrien tried to combat.

"Sorry, again! B-Bye!" She yelped, sprinting away.

"Wait! Marinette! It's raining out!" Adrien calls out, chasing her, leaving Kagami in the throne room.

The princess allowed a small smile to grow on her lips. She's found who her soon-to-be husband's lover is. She turns her heel and walks in the other direction to her room.

"Marinette! Wait up!" Adrien called out, pulling the white parasol from the basket and chased after her.

The bluenette spun around, causing the blonde to fail in stopping in time, allowing a collision in the front of the doors to the entrance of the palace.

"I'm so sorry, again!" Marinette squeaked, her face is tomato red.

"It's fine, no worries." Adrien smiles.

The blonde turns to look outside and saw the rain.

"It's raining." He murmurs, turning back to her with his fixed smile.

"Y-Yeah, I should get going." Marinette nervously laughed.

"Here, so you don't catch the cold before the ball, that would be disappointing." He responds, handing her the white parasol.

"O-Oh, it's okay." The bluenette shook her head.

"It's fine, I have loads more." He responds, opening the white parasol and handing it to her.

Marinette gave a soft gasp as her eyes lined up to Adrien's. The bluebell eyes clashed against his emerald green eyes. The faint 'pitter-patter' of the rain was heard in the background. Light lightning strikes struck in the skies, lighting up the gloomy skies. Faint claps of thunder hit every so often, setting a gloomy, melancholy view.

Marinette took the parasol into her slightly trembling hands. Her face was turning blush red, her heart was beating against her chest, her stomach was filled with butterflies.

"T-Thanks.." She said softly, pulling the satchel close to her side.

"No problem." Adrien chuckles, rubbing the nape of his neck.

"I-I'll get going then." She says with a shy smile. turning and walking out the door and past the gates with the blonde prince watching her as she grows even more distant by the moment.

As Marinette walked out and past the gate, she let out a breath she didn't know was lodged in her chest.

"That was definitely something." Tikki giggles.

"Sure was." Marinette responds with a light laugh.

"You seemed to have googly eyes for Adrien." Tikki grins cheekily.

"N-No, I don't know what you are talking about." The bluenette huffed, turning her attention to the drizzling rain.

"You can tell yourself that as many times as you want, Mari." Tikki giggles, retreating back into the satchel.

The bluebell eyed girl rolled her eyes but a small smile crept up on her lips. Maybe she has fallen in love.
