Look at that smile! Ok, izzy's pov*
It was the day before Valentine's Day and I was in my English class reading an excerpt from a book we were assigned to read. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the one and only Sodapop Curtis staring at me smiling. I mouthed a simple "what," to him, and he just smiled bigger. I didnt know what was up with him; I'd just have to find out after class.
After class*
I went up to Soda. He was with his friends Johnny and Steve but I still wanted to know what that was about back there in class. "Hey, um, Soda?"
"Yes girly?"
"Why were you all smiles in class earlier Curtis," I asked him with my arms crossed, waiting for a justifiable explanation. "Because you're so cute that's what," Sodapop nonchalantly replied. I blushed, then he looked at his friends, then back at me and suddenly asked: "would you care to be my valentine princess?"
I was in shock. The most handsome boy in all of Tulsa, asked me to be his valentine. This is crazy! I paused before answering. "Um, yeah! Of course I would."
"That's great. Meet me out in the vacant lot tomorrow at.." he licked his lips in thought; then continued. "At lunch maybe? How does that sound Izzy," he asked, looking straight into my brown eyes. "That sound great. See you then," I faltered and hurried off because the blush on my cheeks was getting way too red. "Ok byee!" I heard him shout in th3 distance.
Valentine's Dayyyyy*
It was lunch time so I went out to the vacant lot to see Soda waiting for me. There were chocolates, gifts, and a white teddy bear. Soda is so sweet and he tried his best.

It was so cute! I couldn't speak. I literally had no words. I just stared into his dreamy blue eyes. "I love you Izzy."
"I love you too Sodapop Curtis," I confessed. The rest of lunch we enjoyed our chocolates and I hugged my teddy bear. Soda wanted to name him blue; because of my hair (I have brown hair with blue ends, cool right?) he said he really liked it. After we walked back to class hand in hand. ❤️💕🤍
