Rae: No Sir it doesn't, as I said before I am willing to take the consequences of my actions.

Steve: Good, cause you weren't getting out of it even if you didn't except them.

Rae: I understand that Sir.

Steve: Good.

They then pulled into HQ, where they both got out and headed inside."

Steve: Now, Catherine said you brought in a suspect that might have shot Danny?

Rae: Yes Sir I did.

Steve: Where is he?

Rae: Downstairs in interrogation room 3 Sir.

Steve: Who is he?

Rae: His name is Zayn Malik, he's a student at the school that both our vics went to.

Steve: Same place you found Danny?

Rae: Yes Sir.

Steve: Has anyone been in to interrogate him yet?

Rae: Not yet Sir.

Steve: Why not?

Rae: No ones been here to do it yet Sir.

Steve: Where are they?

Rae: Detective Williams is in the hospital, Lt. Rollins was at the hospital, You were in the hospital, and I'm not sure where Officer Kelly is.

Steve: And you didn't do it?

Rae: No Sir. I thought you might want me to wait till you got here to do that.

Steve: You thought about that?

Rae: Yes Sir.

Steve: Really? Sorry, normally I wouldn't have such a hard time believing someone about something like this, but with your reputation of over stepping superiors and disregarding orders, I have to double check.

Rae: I understand Sir, and yes, I really did think about it. (She said, hiding the pain in her voice that his words caused.)

Steve: Good. (Then his phone began to ring) Wait over there. (He said gesturing toward the door that led downstairs, then he turned away and hit talk on his phone)

Rae went over and leaned against the wall. She was tired, no scratch that, she was exhausted! Yes she hadn't been working with Five-0, going case after case, but she had her own personal issues she was working out. family issues. The exact issues that caused her to leave the Navy after her fourth tour, not to mention all the crap she's been enduring while working with Steve, Cause truth was Steve's words cut deep, real deep, they hurt as bad as it did whenever her dad was disappointed in her or something, and she didn't even know why, she had just met Steve, before Five-0 she didn't know him from Adam, but still his words and disappointment cut like knives. She didn't know why he didn't like her that much, I mean even from the start he had a problem with her, it was almost like he just saw her and decided that he wouldn't like her no matter how much she tried to please him. Absent mindedly she slid down the wall, as Steve's words replayed in her head

"The fact that you even have to ask that question proves my point that you are not detective material, and your disobedience and obliviousness proves that you didn't belong in the military either!"

The words replayed again and again, that mixed with the thought of her mother's cancer, plus complete and utter exhaustion sent Rae into tears and she couldn't even control it. She felt herself bury her face in her knees like a sad child and quietly sob uncontrollably.
