I walked into college with Hazel and Noah. Hazel's car broke down a while back, so ever since then she's been coming with me. When we reach the car park we meet with Noah. My stomach growled as I didn't have a chance to eat breakfast, so I made a beeline for the canteen. Noah had work to do with some boy from our class so he kissed me goodbye before heading upstairs to the library to meet with him.

Although Hazel probably ate this morning, no smart girl would reject food so she joined me. We both got a hot chocolate and we decided to get two large sausage rolls to share between us, because they were two for one and what's a sausage roll without your best friend?

I don't think that saying existed, but I suppose it does now! We tiredly drop onto the chairs and talk about boring things like essays and exams while people bustled about around us. I come in an hour and a half early so I can relax and do some things with Hazel before class. Plus, the car park is usually packed so it's best to get there early.

Some mornings I'll go into the track and run but this morning my bones are so tired that I'll be lucky if I'm able to function enough to get myself up the stairs to one of the classes. I only have three or four classes every second day, so it was an easy-come, easy-go type of course.

Kayla was over in the canteen by herself, choosing between flat or sparkling water. Being Kayla, of course she chose the bubbly option. She noticed Hazel and I and waved. Hastily she paid and made her way over. "Hey! What are you to doing here?"

I massage my temples, not bothering to reply. For some reason I was in a sluggish mood.

"Uh, Kay, we go here?" Hazel suggests, scoffing. Kayla clacks her tongue. "Duh, Kayla." She laughs.

"Mm..." Hazel replies. "I'm going to my dad's house tonight, so you'll be on your own for the weekend, okay?" Kayla nods like a puppy. "That's perfectly fine. Well, I better go. People to see! I also need to drop into the cleaner's cupboard, I owe her five pounds for paying for my lunch  the other day."

"Okay; bye Kay." Hazel waves, offering her a smile before Kayla skips away.

"How is she this hyper and happy in the morning?" I groan, laying my head on the table. I pick at the sausage roll. Hazel shrugs. "True Kayla style. You have to admire her for it, though."

"Mm..." I reply. "I could use some of it."

Hazel snickers. "You could."

After a while, it was time to go to class. I usually find Noah but he said that he'd arrive with his friend. I don't know which friend it was, but everyone was in class except for Noah – which was weird. I find a seat in my sluggish, tired manner and plop down into it. I save one for Noah next to me. The professor (who is the type of one that's all 'call me Patrick!' and gives you all nicknames) strolls in. "What's up, guys." He greets us, holding up a hand.

"No Noah today?" he asks. He turns to me. "Aud, is he okay?"

I cringe at the name, but I swallow it and shrug my shoulders. "He was here earlier so I'd say he just got caught up or something." After the class quiets down the professor (Or Patrick, if you like) gets on with the class.

"Sorry!" a voice shouts, bursting in. Of course, it was Noah.

"Noah, hey bud." Patrick greets him. "Why were you late?"

Noah holds up something which leads me to my internal death. A packet of Always pads. "Sorry, profe- Patrick. I did get Auden the normal ones, but she insisted I buy the jumbo ones because, you know, it's a hard time. So I had to trek to the supermarket for them. But I'm back. Auden might need to excuse herself."
