Gautham comforted me,..as I was uncontrollably sobbing.
"It's because of you... " I said

"What did I do, anyways anytime he would have come to known.. This would have happened.. I told you I don't want to see you hurt.. ", he said

" How do I fix this", I asked

"You are not going to do anything, focus on the work for now", he said

" He hates me... "I said

" Devi, no you know.. What happened.. Right. . He doesn't remember,.. He doesn't hate you..
I have to talk to him too, he saw me yesterday, .. I've been in very less contact with him, and I'm here and didn't even go see him" he said

"Ok.. "

Gautham came to see me. I didn't want to see him, but I wanted to hear what he had to say.. Ever since the accident, .. He had been distant.. I wasn't in a phase of mind, to go talk.. But even he wasn't around much..

I lost contact with him,.. Now seeing him yesterday..

"Hey Vikki", Gautham said coming up to me

I looked at him..

" Tell me what you have to, and leave I have lots of work", I said

"See... I know how you feel, but Devi didn't do that with the wrong intention", he said

" If you are here to talk for her, you may leave now ", I said

"Ok.. I wasn't in contact with you much, and the reason was your father... During the first year after you were discharged, he always kept an eye.. " He said

My father! My blood boiled hearing about him, of course he was capable of something like that..

"And Vikram,.. I was Devi's friend too, I helped her, go through what she had to and I became her best friend, the startup, she has partnered with me.. ", He said

" So.. You chose to be her friend rather than mine.. You never called me as you used to, you were here and you never thought of visiting me, because you found a new bestie, you forgot me? ", I complained

Gautham shook his head.

" I never forgot you.. Vikram.. I just am giving you some time.. And  Devi needed my support, I couldn't just talk to you normally, when I know the history between you two ", he said

" You may leave Gautham... I'm done hearing your excuses. You know what, I don't care.. " I said..

Gautham sighed and left.. I didn't care.. I told myself.. Work was all I had left in life.

I was working the next day morning, when I got a letter delivered..

I opened it to find a check of 50 lakhs,.. From Vikram?.
He had written on a note,
"Is this compensation enough, or do you want more? "

My hands trembled and I broke down,..
Then... I got angry. . My love was in its place, but he doesn't get to insult me like this!

So I took the car to his office..
It was big.. I asked for the visiting pass,.. Which I was given.. I had to show my business card..

"Where is your Vikram sir? ", I asked the receptionist

She widened her eyes and looked at me,

" You want to meet the CEO? Do you have an appointment? " She asked
