thinking of how much is packed into everything about ereani so there's more to pick up on every reread, a good example is Annie's pedagogical style with Eren. its foundation in want-not-need, its playfulness and its Socratic conversational nature, its brutality, its desperation, its complicated sexual inflections, its intimacy and honesty, its deep respect, the mutual learning, what it reveals about how she herself is changing, its goddamn effectiveness does this even count as one thing anymore
pretty fond of the terms of engagement of their sparring dynamic superimposed onto their sexual one, so, er, quite a few, merrily exhibitionist, dissonantly tender sadomasochism probably foremost among them, and different types of d/s powerplay that take the mentorship and its dynamics of control into account
my happily ever after for them would be to negotiate canon circumstances to get to a point where they can continue to teach and learn and drag one another forward mercilessly into greater and terrible versions of themselves. so basically any canon occurence that hits the notes of this Rilke poem:
