If there's anything that life has taught me, it's that it should be illegal to go without a nice gooey chocolate chip cookie. Maybe I'd be in jail, but at least then I'd have the chance to fulfill this law.

Aside from that, I support stand mixers, no-kill animal shelters, baby belugas, mechanical pencils, and, of course, writers, artists, and readers.

I specialize in YA, low-fantasy novels that weave in a (sometimes not-so-) subtle layer of dystopia and incorporate strong female characters. Depressing short stories are a must, and occasional writing or design how-to's are fun.

That said, stand mixers are absolutely worth it. As are chocolate chip cookies. And yes, buying the pre-made mix is never a bad idea ;)
