          chapter twenty-two of illuminate is up!!
          
          firstly, i want to apologise for not updating this fic since JANUARY. it's been quite a year for me, not only was it the final year of my university studies, but i also watched the bad batch and it consumed my thoughts (go watch if you haven't). you may have seen my short fics for them on ao3 - it was a lot easier to produce smaller works this year than to work on this.
          
          illuminate takes a lot of my brain power. i want to write a good story with complex characters and plot and it just wasn't possible for me this year with everything i had going on.
          
          BUT now that my studies have finished (yay!) i am endeavouring to finally finish this story after three years of it living in my brain!
          
          for those who have stuck around waiting for an update, i want to thank you for being so patient with me. i never intended to leave this story for so long, but i love venelia and din with my entire whole heart and i would never leave this story unfinished. thank you for your support with this <3
          
          so! i hope you enjoyed this chapter! it's extra long to apologise for my absence.
          it was a little difficult to get back into the groove of this story, so if there are any inconsistencies with character or plot or anything like that please let me know! i tried my best to ensure continuity and such remained but this manuscript is quite the mammoth so i may have missed something.
          
          i'm aiming to get the next chapter out in the new year!

          the next chapters are the beginning of the finale for this part of the story (read that very carefully....)
          i've mapped out these chapters, but again, they might take time because this is the climax of the story.
          i'm still aiming for a 2-3 week update schedule, but if there are delays it's bc i'm a perfectionist and this story is my baby!

          i'm so sorry for being MIA, but despite being busy working, this chapter was more challenging to write than i anticipated. 
          mandalorian culture is vast and i want to portray it properly, so this was daunting to write and i hope it reads well!

          i hope you enjoyed the chapter! din and venelia are entering an interesting phase for their relationship and in reclaiming fidelis!
          i'm still aiming for a semi-regular update schedule, with a chapter every 2-3 weeks, but this is just a guide.

          thank you for being so patient with me over the past 3 months. i've been very busy but so fulfilled! i did my play and i've finished uni for the year so i'm on break the next 4 months!
          i've missed writing illuminate so much, and i can't wait to get back into it!
          this chapter just poured out of me. i love din and venelia more than i can describe.

          i know i’ve been a little MIA in recent weeks but i just wanted to say a HUGE thank you because aid hit one million reads over the weekend!!!

          in regards to illuminate; i haven’t forgotten about my beloved story!! i’ve been busy with uni and acting in a play and it’s been tough juggling everything!! but my play opens this weekend (i am so so so excited you have no idea, this play has been amazing to work on) and i’m hoping that updates will be back to normal within the next few weeks. but thank you so much for being patient with me — i appreciate it!!

          i hope you all enjoy it! this was a challenging but fun chapter to write! 
          i've got a lot going on in my life right now with uni, work and a play i'm acting in, so the next chapter will take some time to write and get to you. 
          but rest assured, i will not be leaving this story unfinished. this is my baby and there's still so much of din and venelia's story i want to tell. 
          we're almost finished with the second act, and then after the next chapter, we'll be entering the final act of this part of the story. i can't wait to get it to you.
