Robert Thompson

He worked as a Managing Director for Universal Edition, a European music company with offices in London, Vienna, and New York, after graduating. Thompson Music Group, LLC was founded by Robert Thompson to provide his services as a producer. From 2007 to 2014, he was a Professor of Arts Management at Purchase College, and from 2008 to 2010, he was Dean of the Conservatory of Music.



He worked as the Dean of Music at SUNY Purchase College's arts administration program, where he taught arts and entertainment law and music entrepreneurship.



Robert Thompson was elected President of the Music Publishers Association of the United States, Inc. in 2020. Since 2013, he has also served as President of Wise Music Group, which includes G. Schirmer, AMP, Schirmer Theatrical, and Node Records. In 2015, Robert Thompson established Schirmer Theatrical as a subsidiary of the Wise Music Group and a division of Music Sales Corporation. Thompson established NODE Records in 2016.
