First off, I'm no expert at writing, but I DO appreciate a well-written, carefully crafted story. I like it when the author takes the time to research and present their story well. A story doesn't have to be really complicated to be good, oftentimes there is profound beauty in simplicity. I love quirky but strong characters, forbidden love stories, and zarry fan fiction. I adore authors who not only think outside the box but explore all of the box's facets as well. Bed scenes don't turn me off, unless they are tasteless and totally ridiculous. What turn me off are stories that condone rape, bullying, slut/weight/smart-shaming, bigotry, and unnecessary violence. I don't mind bad grammar (that much) as long as the story is good. I eat rabid fans for breakfast.
