Melinda earned her MFA in creative writing: Fiction, at Sierra Nevada College in 2016. She is currently at work (in the painfully slow manner of a slug on tranquilizers) on her first novel. She expects to publish it sometime before civilization comes to an end, though she isn't ruling out false starts and distraction due to shiny things. She currently resides in a rural
town in Western Washington State and is owned by two very spoiled cats, Chloe (3.75 years) and Sebastian (6 months) They graciously allow her to live in their home.
