Matthew Tobin

Matthew Tobin was born in Derby, but for the past 12 years has adopted Yorkshire as his home, whether they like it or not. That's not to say he can't still be found in Derby from time to time, most notably on a Saturday afternoon at Pride Park. 



Writing has long been a passion of Matthew's, and when he's not playing with his daughters, walking his dog, or obsessing over watches and gadgets, he can often be found wiling away his spare time in a Costa Coffee on his MacBook. (Obviously other coffee houses and computing devices are available). 



Albert Toohey and the Dark Matter, although being the first book Matthew has published, is one of a number he has written, up until now writing simply for the sheer enjoyment of creating and developing ideas and putting them down on paper.



When writing Matthew loves to put himself in the mindset of each of his characters and feel what they feel, which can make the writing process rather animated and something of a rollercoaster journey. Albert Toohey and the Dark Matter has epitomized this, and Matthew's big hope is that readers of this book share this connection with the characters and enjoy their journey.
