Max Hall was born and raised in the Black Country pubs and social clubs his parents ran. He studied history at Cardiff University in the '90s before stumbling into a career in newspaper journalism after deciding he didn't fancy warehouse work much. He joined Wattpad in 2022 as a means of inflicting his first novel, Heathens, onto an unsuspecting world. Be warned, his collection of stories about Black Country folk in the fictional town of Sedgemere Heath contains ne'er a hint of werewolves, vampires or horny quarterbacks but there are a couple of blue pallets, in case that sort of thing floats your boat. In between dabbling in fiction, Max has found time to write about everything from garden fetes to the clues insect damage can tell us about murders, in a career that has been nothing if not varied (some would say haphazard). He lives in Genoa, northern Italy, and has also played, and scored, in the second division of the Tarawa League on Kiribati. But he's far too modest to talk about that.
