After the events of painting the town, Ozpin gets a visitor from an old friend who comes to ask for help, so now team ruby finds themselves in a school that teaches magic trying to keep a black-haired boy with a lightning bolt scar out of trouble. 

Remnant's magician 
Now The story can go two ways either 
A Harry Potter crossover where a recently mute Harry finds himself on a remnant been discovered by an old crow and his recent trainee who later befriends and adopts him, Now how will Hogwarts deal with a savior who doesn't give a piece of crud, uses a different form of magic, only speaks when spoken to and primarily hangs out with his soul mate who joined him for the ride. 
Or a dark magician Reader story where Qrow and Ruby find a boy who is in bad shape who they bring back to health and later join Ruby when she goes to Beacon.
