The Cold War Between Us series is based on a true story. This is a coming-of-age "Romeo and Juliet" love story between two beautiful enemies that defy the odds during the peak of the Cold War.
The series begins 1985, a time when anti-communist sentiment is at its highest in American culture. The story follows Amelia Malmar an American girl who, along with a group of American high school kids traveled to the USSR as "youth Ambassadors for Peace." The group of high schoolers are ill-prepared, culturally unaware and mostly unchaperoned behind the Iron Curtain. Amelia gets into trouble with the Soviet police and falls for the mysterious Sasha Zolotov who comes to her rescue.
The next book continues their story after being apart for 5 years...
