Growing up amidst the verdant fields of Appleton, Wisconsin, Brian Kersten Veterinarian, nurtured a profound connection with animals on his family's farm, planting the seeds for his future in veterinary medicine. His academic journey flourished at the University of Minnesota, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and an impressive graduation with high distinction in 1977.

Today, he champions affordable veterinary care as the founder and leader of Mercy Veterinary Service in Baldwin, WI. His expertise in small animal medicine, surgery, and veterinary dentistry shines through in his daily practice. Additionally, he broadens his impact as a relief veterinarian in Amery, WI, further contributing to the well-being of animals across different communities.

After completing his undergraduate studies, he pursued a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, attaining it in 1983. His early career involved mixed animal practice in Burlington, WI, where Brian honed his skills and deepened his knowledge. In 1985, he demonstrated his dedication to global service, spending 2.5 years in Haiti working on relief and development projects. He later established roots in Baldwin, WI, taking ownership of a veterinary practice in 2001 and actively participating in local animal welfare initiatives as President of the Pierce St. Croix Humane Society.

Even after selling his practice in 2016, his passion for animal welfare did not wane. This unwavering commitment led to the founding of Mercy Veterinary Service in 2021. His dedication to service also extends to his volunteer work at Today's Harvest Food Shelf, his support for Mercy Corps, and his veterinary contributions to Barefoot Crow Animal Rescue.
