Hello and welcome!
I started writing in elementary school because my grandmother taught me that our words are the most powerful thing we own. And after many years of learning this the hard way, I must admit she is right... she always was.
Now I write every day. Before my household wakes. In between meetings, after school drop-off (or at pick-up), and whenever I am not working on papers for my Master's. I write mostly for myself, but also for the characters who refuse to leave me alone until I give them a page and a voice.
Currently, I am working on several projects at once (aren't we all). The story closest to my heart at this moment is a literary fiction - interwoven with historical elements - about women who are not allowed to take up space, and what happens when they do it anyway.
I come to this space completely terrified. I am a perfectionist (slowly working on overcoming this) who has only let one friend read a small snippet of everything I have written. I don't even let my husband read my work (yet). Diving headfirst into this space is forcing me to be brave about the thing I love most.
I write for anyone who has ever been made to feel small.
All are welcome here - as long as you keep it a safe space for everyone else, too.
