About the Author

Alex Abella is the author and co-author of eight books, including the New York Times Notable novel, The Killing of the Saints. Critics have compared his writing to that of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and Alex’s works have been translated into more than twelve foreign language editions. A playwright, screenwriter, Emmy-award winning newswriter, and war correspondent, Alex is a noted journalist who has written for The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle and other publications. His last non-fiction book, Soldiers of Reason: The Rand Corporation and the Rise of the American Empire, was a history of the world’s most influential think tank. A linguist and oenophile, Alex is an enthusiastic saber fencer and an addicted (but mediocre) tennis player. He has traveled widely throughout Europe and Latin America and currently resides in the suburbs of Los Angeles with his wife and children. More Than A Woman, based on a true story, is his return to fiction.
