@TastelessCandyz hello, I volunteer at an animal shelter! the best thing to do it to let the kitten sniff you first before you try to touch them. It helps build trust and get them used to your scent.
Keep an eye outside in case the mom comes by looking for her child. Wet food should be given along with some dry food (we do a quarter of a generic size of cat food can, morning and afternoon. If its smaller use half of it).
If you plan to keep the kitten, get non clumping litter (kittens may try to eat it, and that causes issues) and keep the kitten in a safe room and slowly show them around. If you have other pets, introduce them very slowly. Have a non tip water bowl (it will save you a lot of water damage and cleaning). Keep the litter a little away from the food and water, most kittens like to throw it around, and it may get in the water. I recommend newspaper around the litter box.
Get some toys, it will keep them from destroying everything, and make sure there isn't a lot of things that can be knocked over. Also no open wires or chargers should be kept where you can't make sure it won't be chewed. Kittens will nip and may scratch you, this most likely is playing, they don't know how to be nice about it yet. Look up images of the signs of scared or mad kittens.
When you can (if you want to keep them) take them to a vet to make sure they don't have fleas or other issues, and to get some recommendations for food type and tips. It you would like to give the kitten away, a local (non kill is preferred, but since kittens are usually adopted quickly should be fine unless they are very ill or require a lot of help) animal shelter. Non profit is usually the best, and most are fine with you walking in to check on how the kitten is doing (though it might be different with the pandemic) Call ahead of time to let them know you are bringing a kitten in, so they can see if they have the room for it.
