Hey guys, I'm just letting you know I'm away tomorrow, so the chapter is coming out a little early this week. One of those day trips to see the grandparents, you know.

I don't really have a hint for this. I'm running low. Ahhhhhhhh. I can't do updates without a hint! That is, not until someone guesses the new story correctly . . .

Guys, be proud of me. With today's update comes news of my next project. While I finished the plot outline for my new series months ago, I came up with a new idea last week that makes the books so much better. Of course, that meant rewriting a large amount of plot and switching around what happens to a lot of characters.

For example, one group of characters was supposed to go to a certain . . . place, while the other half of the group stayed back at home base. With the new idea, I had to switch where two of the characters were. Of course, like I said, that does a significant amount of good for the group, but it was annoying as hell to attack my beautiful plot outline and make sure everything fits well.

On the topic of ILM, I'm thrilled with the feedback I'm getting! Normally, it takes much longer than just a few months for me to rack up 200 reads on anything (however dorky that may sound), so I couldn't be happier! Thank you so much for reading and enjoying.

So consider this entire update your new hint. Previous ones are: a shit ton of exposition, a classic Disney movie, its live action reboot, a fantasy world, classic novel adaptation, no drugs, a curious, grown up lead, the theme of childhood vs. adulthood, a certain light-colored bunny, and the fact that you'd be absolutely mad not to read it when it comes out!

SummerShining

Can anyone explain to me why I decided to write a novel that needs SO MUCH EXPOSITION but I can't actually write exposition like I'm just having one character explain everything to these newcomers in long-ish paragraphs and like the information is interesting (I hope) but it just feels clunky.

In other news, I'm on chapter eight, about 10,000 words in, and all is well! ILM is still coming out every Sunday and my plan is to finish this new book before September, when I'll be finished putting up ILM. In between writing the new book/posting ILM and revising/posting the new book, I'll take some time (like maybe a month or two?) with things I've been neglecting, like Eyes Wide Open and Reaction.

Your new hint with this update is sort of the reason I have so much exposition to muddle through writing: the book my book is based on has a large mythology to incorporate and set up. Previous hints are a classic Disney movie, its live action reboot, a fantasy world, classic novel adaptation, no drugs, a curious, grown up lead, the theme of childhood vs. adulthood, a certain light-colored bunny, and the fact that you'd be absolutely mad not to read it when it comes out! (I swear that last part gets more awkward and embarrassing every time I type it but whatever)

With a new cover comes an announcement . . . This morning, I finished the revision of In Living Memory! I proceeded to spend the rest of the morning on MineCraft building a model of Scott's house because obviously.

I managed to reach my word goal and go above it by 300 words. The last few chapters are really some of my favorite things I've written. They've got drama, humor, and a lot of hope.

I'll continue to work on my new chapter once a week on Sunday schedule. It gets antsy during the week waiting to give you guys the next one, but I think it'll be worth the wait. By September the full book should be out.

As for your next clue, this time I want you to think of a classic Disney movie, and its live action reboot. Previous hints are a fantasy world, classic novel adaptation, no drugs, a curious, grown up lead, the theme of childhood vs. adulthood, a certain light-colored bunny, and the fact that you'd be absolutely mad not to read it when it comes out!

You know you have too much time when you make a color-coded map of your fictional future version of America. Maybe I should be writing those last 4,000 words of this revision and start work early on my new project? (Or, you know, my homework?) Hey, I've rewritten a chapter and a half today, so I think I deserve a break for a few hours. The rewrite will be done by tomorrow or the next day, so that's exciting. Trust me, it's worth the wait I put you through to rewrite this because it is ten times better now. I hope you guys enjoy it a much as I have.

Another hint for you - you'd be absolutely mad to not read my new project! (Subtle plug is subtle) Past hints are a fantasy world, classic novel adaptation, no drugs, a curious, grown up lead, the theme of childhood vs. adulthood, and a certain light-colored bunny.

SummerShining

Hey, the new chapter is out a little early this week, because I'm going out tomorrow and I'm not sure I'll be able to update tomorrow. So . . . here it is!

This isn't really a big update, but hey, let's give another hint anyways. So far we've got fantasy world, classic novel adaptation, no drugs, a curious, grown up lead, and the theme of childhood vs. adulthood. The next shall be . . . many characters from the original are animals, but one of the most important is a light-colored bunny.

It's been two weeks since my last update so I figure I should give you another. As of now, In Living Memory's word count is just over 28,00, which is about 12,000 off from my 40,000 word goal. I'm on chapter twenty-four of thirty-four.

I'm working whenever I can between tennis, choirs, school, and other stuff. I've got a long weekend and a vacation coming up, so hopefully I'll get past the climax and into the falling resolution.

In other news, I've edited my writing schedule to move up the date I should be finished with ILM. If I keep on this new track, I'll be done by May 1st! Previously the date was in the middle of June, the day I get out of school. Now, I'll be starting my new book a full month earlier than I was planning!

Speaking of that new book, let's have a new hint! The ones you have already are fantasy world, classic novel adaptations, no drugs, and a curious, grown up lead. Your new one is . . . the underlying theme of childhood versus adulthood from the old is taken into the new.

SummerShining

Guess who's started working on the climax of In Living Memory?

I've moved through the revision of this book a lot faster than I've expected. That's actually very good news, though, because it means I can begin working on that upcoming series sooner. I'm so excited for so many things. I can't wait for you guys to be able to read the whole of ILM. I can't wait to start my new series. I can't wait to begin planning out new stories after that! I have so much planned, so I hope you guys stick with me to see it all!

To review your hints . . . fantasy world, classic novel adaptation, and no drugs. Your next hint is . . . the lead from the old books has grown up and so has her world, but her curiosity still guides her. This one is a bit of a dead giveaway combined with the other three hints, so feel free to leave a guess on my message boards. Pretty soon, you'll know exactly what I have up my sleeve!

SummerShining

I know I probably should be more objective about this . . . but in Chapter Five, Arrival, my favorite character in the story is introduced - Sarah! Hopefully the love I have for her (along with all of my other characters) will find you guys. Your support means the world to me.

By the way, I thought it would be time for a new clue about my series coming after ILM is finished. Our last two clues were about fantasy worlds and classic literature adaptations. The new clue is . . . that I promise these books will have nothing to do with drugs. Make of that what you will.

SummerShining

So, wow. I guess that little checkmark next to EveryDay and EveryDay 2.0 means that . . . it's over. It's going to be so strange going without it. I know that I'll miss that feeling that I've forgotten to do a poem tomorrow night, and the next few nights. Not to mention, I've gotten used to having a good handle on the date and now I'm going to have no clue what day it is anymore.

Off of the note of endings, I'm working on some beginnings. Like you know, In Living Memory has one chapter up and I've rewritten the second and third chapters done. I think I'll have a new chapter every Sunday. It takes about two to three days for each chapter, depending on the amount of target words I have on my calendar (425 Monday-Thursday and 850 Friday-Sunday). I like to have a few chapters done before Sunday - it takes some stress off in terms of "will I have a chapter ready for next week?"

In other news, expect more frequent updates on Reaction and Eyes Wide Open. Now that I have some more free time without the weight of EveryDay, I'll have some new short stories and poems for you. Speaking of which - I never put up my Halloween Eyes Wide Open story! I'll make sure to do that soon, as sort of a Halloween-in July thing. In February.

Finally, I have a big five-book series that I'm in the process of developing. The only thing about that that I can say right now is I'm starting the first draft of the first book in June, so once I finish (around January, according to my plan) I'll start putting it up. I put a hint as to the theme of the series in my last big update, so I think I'll put a new one down at the bottom of all of these announcements. Also, I'm planning a shorty story separate from Eyes Wide Open. It will have twelve chapters, if everything works out like I'm planning.

Your second hint for my upcoming series: Fantasy worlds are fun. Remember, the last hint was that it is an adaptation of a classic.
