The Story Behind ‘The Architects Of Pride’
          	A peony amongst the weeds.
Hi, ‘Architects’ has been a long-term hobby of mine. It is based on my humanistic beliefs and asks the question if the human race could start again in another world or universe, would they automatically find new religions? Most stories presume that man will always drift towards worship of something or somebody, be it the sun, the stars or a god. I explore the possibility that they would follow a humanistic belief. The power within themselves. Self-awareness and an inbuilt moral compass.

Following the humanistic approach, I have also asked myself about greed. It seems to me that desire is prevalent in today's world of politics and media bias. How would a world be run without it? In ‘Architects’, I explore different types of greed. There is the greed of a nation to be the biggest and best. There is also personal greed. I believe that without this avarice, national desire will diminish. I have assumed three approaches are needed to accomplish this.

          	1. Laws will be made (issues decided and leaders elected) according to the will of all the people, without external bias or coercion.

          	2. Personal wealth must be capped, and excess redistributed to raise the standard of living for all.

          	3. There can be no bias by leaders. They can not be at a party. They act on their own merits for the good of all. (All must be elected as in point 1.)

So my hobby has led me to philosophy. In our current world, we can see the product of the rich getting richer and the poor being kept at a lower level of existence. It is a strange world where riches can buy power beyond your needs and capabilities.

I know which world I would rather live in.

Read ‘The Architects Of Pride’ and tell me your thoughts.

Hi,
My protagonist in "Architects" is finally being given a personality!
He will have ADHD. This is because the story covers the mental states of humanity and this is a disorder close to my heart. The antagonist will be a narcissist as sadly this disorder is also well known to me.
Those who deal with ADHD on a regular basis have my admiration it is a disorder that needs to be written about more. In my story it is written as a part of the evolution of the human soul. I hope you can identify with this description of Klem.

"His dad had told him that he was different. His thoughts were quicker. Klem liked to think that he was a racing ekwid. The feeling of wind in his hair as he ran. The knowing that he could run and run and keep running. Fast. It was the slowing down that he had to get better at. When he was younger, he could not slow down. However hard he tried he could not stop the frustration. This led to anger and an impenetrable, messy cloud would obscure his confused mind. He would lash out. Do silly, naughty things, say silly, naughty things. Things he didn’t mean to do or say. Spitting, punching, swearing.

Once his dad had explained they way Klem was to his family they learnt to keep his frustrations in check. His mother was often at her wits end with his siblings and it took a great deal of inner strength and a hardness of mind to stay calm, not to argue, and to praise where it was due. Klem would not be told. He could be given choices and would work hard for a fair reward. At fifteen years of age he was able to keep his frustrations within. He would always have a fast mind, but he had gained a feeling of some outward control.

Has anyone heard of or been messaged by rnovel or xnovel.
I am flattered by their offer of publishing on thier new app. But Targum is not finished and is only in first draft.
Have I turned down a million pound deal or are they after free stories?

Sevannah_Storm

@Sincil I got the same offer. Nope, not falling for it.

Hi.

Am working on my first novel.

          The Architects Of Pride

          This is the first draft.

It has been a long haul so far. I am coming towards the end of the first draft.

When I started this story I had never written a word before. I told myself that if I could write a novel of about 90k words,
by the end, I may know what I am doing!

Let's just say I have learnt a lot from this.

I am very pleased with how the story has unfolded. I am less happy with my writing. It has dramatically improved I feel. It has improved from the first chapters. I am now painfully aware of my lack of characterisation and my shifting POV early on.

I will finish the first draft soon and I have promised myself not to re-write those early chapters until it is complete.

If you wish to wait until the re-write to read it then that's fine.

If you cant wait to see how my writing has progressed over the six years. Then bash on. Forgive the early chapters.

Have a look. Tell me what you think.
          Thanks
          Anyone getting messages from rnovel/xnovel?
          Are they for real?
Very flattering that they want my work. But it's not finished and in first draft?
