I'm Scott Lake, a writer, filmmaker, actor, reviewer, and lifelong storyteller from the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

I've always been drawn to stories that live somewhere between the strange and the familiar. Horror, science fiction, fantasy, supernatural stories, crime, and anything involving things that probably shouldn't be lurking in the woods all tend to find their way into my writing.

I'm especially interested in Appalachian stories and folklore, because growing up in the mountains teaches you pretty quickly that every holler has a story, every old road has a history, and some things are better left alone after dark.

I've written and directed independent films, worked as an actor, reviewed movies, and spent more years than I probably should admit arguing with fictional characters in my head. Now I'm bringing some of those stories here.

If you're looking for polished, predictable stories with perfectly sensible people making reasonable decisions...

Yeah. You're probably in the wrong place.

But if you like horror, weirdness, monsters, dark humor, supernatural mysteries, and stories that occasionally take a sharp turn into "what the hell was that?"
