About me:

*takes deep breath*

I'm a twenty-something working in finance. As city girl, I breathe easier in carbon monoxide fumes than in fresh country air. I choose cement over soil every time and skyscrapers over trees.

When I do leave the city it's in search of water. Snowboarding. Sailing. Swimming. Scuba Diving. (Note to self: google correlation between water and activities starting with the letter 's')

Five years ago, when I joined Wattpad, I had no idea it would become what it is today. Kind of like how we all got Facebook accounts in 2007 to overshare with our actual friends. (Oh past me, no one cares that you're going ice-skating at the end of the month. Yes, we are all going home after school.)

I'm older now. Facebook has matured and so have I.

Wattpad was an oasis. I always had a love for reading and a tenuous grasp on reality. It was refreshing to discover I wasn't alone in my affliction.

I found myself frustrated with the books I was reading. My favourite character would never be the hero. The heroine always chose wrong. So I bit the bullet and tried to write the book I wanted to read.

I was naive. My knowledge of the writing process extended as far as Don Birnam's approach in, The Lost Weekend. (and although it's a new movie, The Words) I knew nothing of planning or plot; I just wrote what came to mind.

'In the City,' was a story I started as an escape from another now abandoned novel. ITC proved a little harder to shake. The folder just glared out from my desktop everyday and shook it's head in disappointment.

What to expect:

I will finish ITC.

I'm loathe to promise any more than that. I intend to post a chapter a week. That may decrease during busy season. (Banking = Long Hours )

And that's it. Thank you for giving me a chance.

Much love,
Sam. Xx

I'd like to think I'm fun and great to talk to. But, you can figure that out by yourself. I'm totally approachable. Find me here:
