It’s been a little more than a year since I pressed charges on him for assaulting me. I didn’t see justice; neither do 90% of assault victims. I’m supposed to feel solace I this number. I don’t; I feel sadness.

Today is the first day I’ll see my ex after he was made aware that I pressed two counts of sexual assault on him. We have to see each other to exchange our kids. Idk how I feel about this. Angry? Indignant? Righteous? Embarrassed?

Thanks for following. And for telling your story. You will help people you have no idea about.❤

@SHarmonyTago I agree. It also helps when those voices know they are being heard. Unfortunately the people who are hearing them are often to shy/hurt to express that for a long long time.

@richellerenae Thank you for the kind words. I've talked to a dozen women or so via social media, and it really does help ease the pain of reliving the story each time I write about it.

I survived divorce from a sociopath, then subsequently lost half of my income, and I'm struggling to find full-time employment with two degrees and outstanding recommendations, which means my kids and I are forced out of our home. When it rains, it fucking pours. Can I get a little good Universe Juice, please?? I mean, damn. I'm tired, y'all.

"You sure are popular," he said.

"It's a group text," I lied. I picked up our son and wrapped him in a towel and put him on the closed toilet seat to dry him off. My husband looked down at the white marble counter where my phone sat, the screen dark, but still chiming.

"Your phone isn't lighting up," he said.

"Nope," I agreed. "I turned all my notifications off."

          "Why?"

"Because someone seems too nosy for his own good, and I'm allowed to have conversations without you in them."

"Well, who are you talking to?"
