Don't tell me you understand
Don't plan me something grand
Don't try to hold my hand
Just do as I demand

For you only know my name
When I am crowned a dame
You only want the fame
To you it's all a game

Would you ever know a writer's pain?
No, it's a vast ocean which you could never drain
Would you ever see not only the gain?
No, it is your great ruin, your bane

Try to understand my fear
As before the world I stand bare
Deeply hoping that they would care
For all the things I hold dear

But still I stand tall
I give it my all
I'm casting you aside, off my hull
I'm setting my sail, breaking through the wall

I opened my heart up to everyone
Showed them the world I made and the fear was gone
Your storm is no more, for I now see the sun
You tell me who you think has won

Who do you think you are, wipe away that grin
Pick up your sword and let the battles begin
I'll slay you with my words and cleanse you of your sin
For when the fears are silenced, that's when the writer would win.
