Hello there. How's it going?

My name is Jael. But that tends to confuse people. They ask questions like, "What does the 'J' stand for?" and, "Come again? I don't think I heard you right..."

So you can call me J. It'll save us both the trouble.

I'm twenty, soon to be twenty-one (gonna get my drank on!) and I live in the beautiful, desolate, boring state of Vermont. Seriously, the best conversation I've had in real life since moving here in August of 2010 was with a raccoon.

Speaking of raccoons, they're my business; I raise orphaned and injured wildlife, more specifically, rabies vector species. I've had everything from squirrels to hawks living in my home, but my favorite are the raccoons. I could talk about them all day, but I'd rather not bore you (unless you like them, too, in which case, you're totally my new best friend.)

I've been reading and writing as long as I can remember, and creating art even before then. Writing is my way of escaping. I've been doing it all my life. Blah blah blah. I went into Honors English for the writing, and was upset to find that it was more about reading and had nothing to do with creative writing. So I dropped out of school (for other reasons, too, obviously) and now I live as a vagabond, roaming from city to city with my trusty raccoon sidekick and my laptop. Just kidding... Sort of.

Elise: A Girl In Hell is my current project. This thing is my baby. If you'd like to read it and give me your honest opinion, I'd be grateful, and will happily return the favor. This story holds a lot of personal meaning within it, and I hope to finish it soon.
