Personally I started by writing one shots just to get a feel for writing, then that morphed into longer stories
The best advice I could give you is just keep writing! If you have an idea just start typing and let your ideas flow, you can always go back and edit later. Remember it’s your story, you’re allowed to make the rules of the reality you’re creating!
