So turns out today was a very productive day, I managed to get My Strength finished and I even got the first part of Our Girl posted. It would mean a lot if you guys could have a read at both stories and please leave your thoughts.

I'll try to get some writing done over the weekend but I'm looking after my twin nieces so I don't know how much I'll get done, it will probably be Monday before part 2 is posted.

So turns out that I had more done for Part 24 of My Strength than I thought I did, so enjoy it as a little New Years Eve treat from me! With a bit of luck I'll be able to get part 25 up tomorrow which will bring My Strength to an end, then next week I'll make a start on writing Our Girl, volume 4 of the Chasing Happiness stories!

So I only had 2 things to do today at work so I managed to get My Strength all fixed up. It only needed minor changes, mostly spelling mistakes.

I’m away now to get ready for NYE, we’re in pretty tight lockdown so can’t do much but I can have a few drinks with my parents.

I’m off work tomorrow and I know I started part 24 of My Strength so it’s just a matter of finishing that. I might go and visit my loved ones graves tomorrow so depending on how long that takes and how I feel after it, I might get part 25 posted too. If I don’t then it will be Monday or Tuesday before part 25 will be up. I’m babysitting my twin nieces over the weekend so won’t have time to write.

Just wanted to update everyone to say that Yours Always has been fully fixed up... (joys of not having much on at work). Anyways I’m about to start on My Strength which only has 23 parts published so it shouldn’t take me too long to get through them depending on how much needs changing and how busy I am over the New Year weekend. I should have this all fixed up by next week and have part 24 and 25 up soon. Ideally by the end of next week but I’m not putting that pressure on myself. They should definitely be up by the following week!

Just a quick update because I haven’t given one on here in a while...

I’ve managed to get up to part 30 of Yours Always (Volume 2 of Chasing Happiness) updated, some minor fixes to make things make a bit more sense but no major changes that change the storyline.

I have tried to explain why Alannah feels like she has to put herself in harms way and why Spencer acts the way he does when Alannah is with Alan. Some people were complaining that Alannah was being stupid and selfish and that’s not the way I intended her to come across. And Spencer is just acting out because of the stress he’s under.

Anyways, only 5 parts to go (hopefully I’ll have them done tomorrow or New Years Day depending on how crazy work is tomorrow. Then I’m onto the last volume, once I get it all fixed up I’ll finish the story (think there’s only 2 parts left). Then if I get enough interest I’ll write the next volume.

I only managed to get 3 parts of Yours Always fixed up. Had a whole plan for tonight but I ended up getting two very bad nose bleeds (honestly can't remember the last time I had a nose bleed so it was pretty scary when it wouldn't stop) plus low blood sugars (yay diabetes), so I only managed to get 3 parts fixed up. I hope to get more fixed tomorrow, but My nieces are coming up a day early so it might be hard to get too much done.

Anyways, no huge changes. I did notice that I wrote that Spencer held Alannah's hand after he found her shot in the forest. I realised that it was more likely that he would try to stop the bleeding and end up covered in blood so that's the main change that I'm making.

So between having to charge my MiaoMiao (Yay if you know what that is) and the server being down at work so I'm not able to do anything, I've managed to get the Chasing Happiness rewrite finished.

Part 46 has a few changes in it. I had to change the story of how Alan and Alannah met since I got the ages wrong at the start. It's nothing major to the storyline tho. No other big changes were made. A few little details and inner thoughts of Alannah and Spencer have been added but that's it really.

If you're rereading it because of the rewrite then please let me know what you think of the changes, I would love to have people's thoughts on it.

I'm starting on Yours Always now and again I will keep you guys updated on any major changes.

MGGStories

Realising that I've failed to keep you guys updated.

I've gotten as far as part 45 in the rewrite. I've added a few cute little scenes in with a few characters, but nothing majorly different to the story line. Please, if you read over it again then please let me know what you think of the updated parts.

I really need an early night so finishing on part 45, only 5 parts left in this volume of the story, so I hope to get those 5 parts finished tomorrow and start on volume 2.

So I just thought of something that I didn’t think of when I started writing my story, could mean a big change to Alannah s age.

So I had her at 15 when she met Hotch, which by the way I wrote it, was a year before Jack was born, but was also meant to be before Spencer joined the team and if I’m getting my facts right (please correct me if I’m wrong) he was in the BAU 2-3 years before the show starts.

So while I was doing my rewrite I was gonna change when she met Hotch to 3-4 years before Jack was born, which is the year the show started in 2005. So by the time the show started in 2005 she would be 18 at least. I started the story with Kate in it so season 10 in 2015 which would make her 28, not 22. Oops, gonna have to go over the first part again...

Please forgive me, I never thought of doing the maths before I started writing it

MGGStories

Ok so I need to write this down to know where I’m going.

My plan was to have Alan and Alannah go out for at least 2/3 years before my story begins. He’s meant to be around 3 years older so if Alannah is 25 when they met then that would make Alan 28 so they would most likely wouldn’t be in the same class, they might not even be at college. Unless Alannah was getting another degree and Alan wanted to expand his knowledge so he took some classes... so it’s not impossible. Maybe he wanted to become a detective but keeps failing the test (do you have to take a test or am I imagining that?) that could be another stresser and reason behind his annoyance at Alannah joining the BAU. Kinda makes sense to me... wish I had put a little bit more thought into the ages

This actually might be a bigger change than just her age, but I’ll figure it out when I finish work and let you guys know how big of a change it’s gonna be!

Parts 9-13 have been updated tonight. Some minor details have been added. A few more details and hopefully it just reads better.

One big change is the name of the killer that killed Alannah's aunt and uncle in the story. I've changed it to Brendan Harper in part 9 (I think that's when his name is first mentioned). I just can't look at the original name I came up with for that character. I had a very bad experience with someone by that name and I just can't look at it. I will be changing it to Brendan as it comes up in the story. So if you read over it and think you're going crazy then don't worry, you're not, just my way of banishing that name from my life!
