@LoveFeelsLonely hmm that's what I thought. But yeah, her dad seems very very distant. It must hurt tho, that because of something her brother did, her dad doesn't really maintain a relationship with her

@TwinklingDusk that means a lot, thanks! And I think it would be a typical parent-child relationship reflective of the upper class Victorian Era. It's slightly hinted in Silence Breaking, Chapter 9 where Adaira tells Lilly that her father would never allow her to use a firearm. Also considering how Mr Ambrose is similar personality-wise to his dad also gives a sense of Adaira's relationship with him. Whenever Mr Ambrose is commanding her, she automatically obeys and I feel like part of that is a conditioned response due to their father. So yes, I would pretty much summarize their relationship as a strict, disciplinarian father that is distant with his traditionally raised, compliant (for the most part) daughter
