Khulya Jafarova

My name is Khulya Jafarova (Azeri: Xülya Cəfərova) and I was born in Qabala, Azerbaijan on February 17, 1992. I grew up in Baku, which is the capital of Azerbaijan. I still live in Baku with my husband and beautiful daughter Kulek

I am a quadrilingual person. My first language is Azeri. Besides that, I am fluent in English, Russian and Turkish. I write in three languages - Azeri, English, and Turkish. 

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and my Master's Degree in International Journalism from Baku State University. I am currently studying for a Ph.D. at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

I am the official translator of the international bestseller - Eat, Pray, Love; (Author: Elizabeth Gilbert) and the 2nd (Catching Fire;) and 3rd (Mockingjay) books of the popular trilogy - The Hunger Games trilogy; (Author: Suzanne Collins) in Azerbaijan. I have translated them from English to Azeri. 

I started writing when I was still a child. Soon I had discovered that writing is my true passion. My stories, short stories, flash fiction stories and articles have been published in the local newspapers, magazines, on the online literature platforms and websites in Azerbaijan. Some of my stories have been published in the online literary magazines in Turkey. And my 101-word story - Besties recently has been published on 101words.org.
