Hi, I'm a mother of geeky gamer sons and I wrote this story after my offspring and a handful of their friends descended on our farmhouse one weekend for a multi-player online gaming session. It started on a Friday night and I swear I was *still* finding them curled up in corners next to power points on Monday morning (carefully curled around their computers). They ate the fridge. They barely slept. They levelled up (what does this even mean?). The smell...
One of them tried flirting with a gamer girl who'd stumbled into their cyber world. He crashed and burned. Fell on his sword. Got flung around by a scary beast with horns. His pickup line was so *bad*.
I love justice.
Afterwards, I wondered whether people ever did manage to flirt successfully while gaming - what with all the crazy quests and diabolical trash talk. What would happen if they ever actually met? Y'know, in person.
*gamer girl* is how I figure it might go.
You can buy this story on plenty of eBook platforms under the title The Courage of Eli Jackson. Alternatively, the story will be going up in full here.
I've written many other published stories. Visit my website for more information. My latest is a sweet Christmas story called Must Love Christmas. Chapter One is here on Wattpad for sampling.
