I lost my business in 2013 and nearly everything else, and have been trying to punch my way out of that box ever since. So, I'm basically a struggling artist...

I originally wrote this story as a short work of fiction without a title. A friend, a New York Times best-selling author, asked me, "Can you turn it into a novel?" And yes, I said, "Of course..." That was 2008-the launch of an 18-year endeavor to become a fiction novelist.

A year later (2009), I thought, "What was I thinking, telling him that?!" The first draft of the novel (originally titled: Bone Stalker) was a colossal mess. The second draft took another year and was better, but still needed too much work. Later, I pulled it from Amazon, shelved it, and eventually returned to school, where I earned my MFA. Four years later, I dusted it off and started reworking it under a new title-Heavenly Beasts and Perfectly Wicked-which you are reading now.

I hope you will consider reading my work and let me know your thoughts. I am always interested in meaningful and useful (as in helpful) recommendations with respect to the storytelling elements related to this work of narrative fiction.
