I grew up in South-central Alaska. I lived in Anchorage, near the Alyeska ski resort, on a cabin on an island on a lake, and then in a boring old house.
I went to 7th - 12th grade in the same school, and my graduating class was 56 people - nearly all of which showed up at the cabin, on the island, on the lake, for our graduation night party.
I kissed a boy that night. One I'd wanted to kiss for a long, long, long time. We got married two years later, have built two homes together, survived military deployments, law school, student loan debt, and two children.
He now works as a prosecutor - bringing home an endless supply of heart-wrenching, uplifting, and hysterical stories.
I play the guitar, take pictures, and love to hike. I don't like rivers, but love the ocean. I love to fly, but get motion sick. My ultimate vacation would be to sail through the deserted islands in the Bahamas. A few years ago, I got that wish when my parents retired on a sailboat.
I taught high school French when I was only a few years older than my students, and then taught middle school math with my degree in political science and French.
I spend grocery money on designer fabric, shoes, and books.
I cannot express how many times I wished I could write a whole novel.
And now I have. Lots of them. Life is good.
I'm represented by Jane Dystel of Dystel and Goderich. I write under Jolene Perry (YA), Jolene Betty Perry (religious fiction) and Mia Josephs (New Adult).
