Dawson Holloway

Hello. My name is Dawson. And I like to write. I cannot pinpoint when I started writing - it's been a passion of mine ever since I learned how to write fluently, in kindergarten. I started off writing picture books, which evolved into short stories, and eventually into books. 

Despite the username, I also cannot pinpoint which genre I specialize. At the moment I'm writing several books at once - a historical fiction about the Civil War, a science fiction about a movie star who earns more money than any other living soul, only to find out that it wasn't really worth it, and another science fiction about an alternative reality to the other science fiction book involving a secret agent and time travel. There's also a story about a teacher who is incredibly depressed, but learns to find happiness through a student of hers in a similar boat, and another realistic fiction about a Mongolian girl who comes to America to work for a circus, only to find out that it is nothing like she expected it to be. I'm putting together a collection of short stories, and making a parody of all of this Vampire buzz just to top it all off. I also like writing plays, having written plays that have done exceptionally well at events both casual and competitive.

Although it is hard to pinpoint my writing career, I know I want to pursue it and become an author, myself. I met famous author, and one of my favorites throughout my life, Christopher Paul Curtis, in the fifth grade. He inspired me to write after talking to me about his career after I had some time to ask him questions after a seminar at my aunt's high school, where she worked as the media specialist and had organized the event in the first place. Like Mr. Curtis, I like to write about deep-rooted problems in society, whether about their origins, or where they are bound to wind up. My books will take you into epics and stories that you may find to be closer to your life than you may first think.
