Be who you are, no matter what.
At least that's what I want to be like but, honestly, in this crazy life of teenage hood you always find yourself following the crowd at one point.
At least in my experience.
At the end of the day though, its your own happiness that matters. 
Life is hard to live in if you're constantly depressed. 
So if following the crowd is what makes you happy then go for it, if not, just carry on doing what makes you happy.
Life can be crazy, but its up to you to make it your own kind of crazy ;-)
