INSPIRATION.
There are so many people who inspire me, either in my day-to-day life or for the future I'm striving towards. For that future, I look to Freya Stark. She was a famous explorer and writer in the early 1900s; she went places no westerner had yet been, had adventures everywhere she went and met such diverse peoples. She said once, "I have no reason to go, except that I have never been, and knowledge is better than ignorance. What better reason could there be for traveling?" I wholeheartedly agree; if you can go, you must.

READING.
If you can't find something that fits what you want to read, write it. If you can't find a perfect story or song or art piece, etc., then you have to go and create it.

FAITH.
I heard a story as a child about King David. As I grew up, I learned that this story was a misinterpretation of a verse, but it got me thinking anyway. The story goes that, when David brought the Ark of the Covenant to a new resting place, he felt the presence of God, and so he danced in worship to God, and he danced so hard that his clothes fell off or tore. This didn't actually happen. Instead, he had been wearing the clothes of a peasant rather than a king as a way to be humbled before God, and a woman accused him of parading half-naked in front of the servants, clothes in tact, of course. The point is, it got me thinking about being in the presence of the LORD, and how David danced with joy, without caring about the opinions of those around him because he was so so happy. David sang, too. Maybe not in this verse, but he did sing and worship God. And I just imagined in my head that maybe David was a terrible singer. Maybe he was so off-key it scared the horses in his stables, but he wouldn't care. King David sang joyously off-key, because it was in praise of his God, and I think that's how I want to be. Completely unrestrained by society's opinions and judgement as I continue to worship God and live life joyously.
