I am about to publish my next book - Looking For Mr Rabbit - it has been a lifetime in the writing. It's an entertaining collage memoir about my life as an English woman born in the north of England in the 1970s and moved to the south of England in the 1980s, whose mother died when she was young and since that moment just felt like she didn't belong anywhere.

Previously, I ghostwrote a battlefield memoir called Immediate Response by Major Mark Hammond, published by Penguin and was a top ten bestseller. Then I self published A Modern Military Mother - Tales from the Domestic Frontline by Clare Macnaughton with Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing and Createspace.

I have an agent but we are both trying to work out what to do - It's commercial non fiction, it's not literary, I am not famous and the style is original so I am not an obvious choice for a publisher. But if you self publish unless you sell 1000s then publishers will not touch it.

So the question is do I take the risk and I self publish or face the rejection of publishers? Ps: I am well old - 42 years old in fact. I don't know how to text speak. Help me!
