I'm a reader, a writer, a blogger, a book historian, a book collector and a bookseller. But that's not all!

- I left home at 17 to become a fiddler and a busker, inspired by the novels of Charles deLint.

- I named my eldest daughter after Margaret of Navarre, inspired by Alexandre Dumas's La Reine Margot. My youngest is named after a fairy queen.

- I used to be a competitive gymnast and still love acrobatic sports - I have done capoeira, contra dancing, kung fu and fencing too!

- I won Canada's 1st National Book Collecting Contest with my Dumas collection. I have 17 editions of The Three Musketeers alone, including one which is a purse!

- I was once made into a character in the Legend of the Five Rings gaming universe.

- I do all my own baking from scratch, including bread and bagels almost every day!

Of course, I am a devoted reader too. My favourite authors include Neal Stephenson, Frank Herbert, Umberto Eco, Hilary Mantel, Salman Rushdie, Alexandre Dumas, Michael Chabon and Susanna Clarke. Do I have to stop there? I could list great writers forever!

Read this little "interview" with me over at @MotherHorror's profile!

I hope you enjoy my writing, but please don't hesitate to be critical too! My goal is to publish someday, and I know I have a lot of work to do before then. Any comments and criticisms are welcome!
