Do you guys read incomplete book or do you read finished books?

Do you guys like it when authors introduce themselves to their audience halfway through the book? Or is it just annoying?

Got back from my trip yesterday so I will be posting the next chapter of vengeance today at some point. But I do have winter guard practices on Mondays and Thursdays so those ones will be a little. Hard to get out.
